Jetsy for handyman

Small jobs, lots of calls. Jetsy keeps every one of them straight.

A door that sticks, a fan, a fence board, a whole punch list. Jetsy answers, writes the list down, and books the visit so you can keep working.

No card for the free trial. English and Spanish. Code CRM27 takes 27% off every month.

Jetsy answers for a handyman business in the moments you cannot pick up: hanging a TV with a leaky faucet next; working a landlord’s move-out list at two units; on a Wednesday at 3 putting each item on the invoice. It was built in Arizona by a painting company that runs on it every day, and it works in English and Spanish.

The phone

What a handyman customer hears when Jetsy answers.

It picks up in your business’s name, says it is the virtual assistant and that the call is recorded, finds out what they need, takes the address, offers two times from your calendar, books one and texts the caller. Here is the sample call, written out.

  1. JetsyThanks for calling Fix-It Fred. I’m the virtual assistant, and this call is recorded. How can I help?
  2. CallerCan you hang a TV and fix a leaky faucet the same day?
  3. JetsyYes, both in one visit. Fred charges by the hour — $85, the price he set — and most of that is two hours. What’s the address?
  4. Caller5555 North 7th Street, Phoenix.
  5. JetsyGot it. I have Saturday at 9 or Monday at 9. Which is better for you?
  6. CallerSaturday.
  7. JetsyDone, that’s booked. Can I get your name for the appointment?
  8. CallerIt’s Kim.
  9. JetsyThank you, Kim. I’m texting you the time and the address now. Have a good one!

They ask. Jetsy answers and books.

  1. Can you hang a TV and fix a leaky faucet the same day?”

Jetsy gives your hourly rate or minimum, the way you set it.

  2. What is your hourly rate?”

Jetsy writes down every item on their list, so you show up with the right parts.

  3. Do you do small drywall repairs?”

Jetsy books a half day or a full day and texts you the lead.

Have Jetsy call you — hear it yourself in a minute.

Type your cell. Jetsy rings you and you ask it anything about Jetsy — it is the same software that would answer for a handyman business.

Phone answering comes with Jetsy 2.0 and up. You keep your own number and forward it. On Jetsy 1.0 you answer your own phone and still get the whole office.

A real week

What it looks like for a handyman business.

  1. 1
    Monday, 8:30 am

A landlord calls with a move-out list for two units. Jetsy takes both addresses and the list, and books Wednesday.

  2. 2
    Wednesday, 3:00 pm

Each item is a line on the invoice from your price book. Photos of the finished work go on it. He pays by card from his office.

  3. 3
    Friday

He has twelve more units. You tag him “property manager” and his properties are all on one customer page.

New for handyman

The newest things Jetsy does for a handyman business.

Each one is already in the app. Open it live in the sample, no sign-up.

  • Several properties and the equipment at each

One customer, more than one address: a home, a rental, a second building, each with its gate code and access notes the crew sees on the job. The equipment at each one (brand, model, serial, install date, warranty end, photos) keeps its own service history, and a warranty ending soon is flagged.

  • Inventory and purchase orders

Parts and materials with a part number, unit cost, reorder point and supplier. Stock at the shop and on each truck. The crew records what they used on a job from their truck and you add it to the invoice at the price-book price. Low stock is listed once a day, and purchase orders go to suppliers by email or print.

  • Dispatch board and crew map

A lane for each crew member. Tap a job to assign it or move its day and time, and overlaps show in red. The map shows where the crew is only while they are working with Jetsy open, and stops after their last job of the day.

    Jetsy 1.0 · $25 See it live →
  • Crew time clock, timesheets and payroll CSV

The crew clocks in, out and on break from the crew app, on a job if they like. You see weekly timesheets per person, fix a missed clock-out, approve a week and it locks, see hours over 40 flagged, and download a payroll file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • A missed call texted back

Somebody rings and hangs up before you get their name. Within seconds they get a text: “We saw your call but did not catch what you needed. Reply here and we will help.” Once per number per day, between 7am and 10pm, in Spanish if they spoke Spanish. You can use your own words.

The office app

The whole office, on the phone you already have.

Nothing to install. It runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, in English and Spanish with one tap to switch.

  • Proposals and customers — every call, form and proposal in one list, hot ones first. Bring your phone contacts in with a few taps.
  • Quotes written for your trade — a price book so every job is priced the same way, with before and after photos. The customer signs on their phone.
  • Calendar, routes and crew — the day in driving order, a dispatch board, a crew app with a time clock.
  • Invoices and card payments — straight to your bank through your own Stripe account. Deposits too.
  • Follow up — one list of every reason to call or text someone: a quote with no answer, money due, a review to ask.

Questions

What handymen ask before they start.

Will Jetsy write down a whole punch list?

Yes. It writes down every item on the caller’s list, so you show up with the right parts, and books a half day or a full day on your calendar.

Can Jetsy give my hourly rate?

Yes, if you set it. It gives your hourly rate or your minimum the way you typed it, and never works out, adds up or discounts a price. Leave it blank and it says the price comes after a look.

How does a landlord with twelve units work in Jetsy?

Tag him “property manager” and all of his properties sit on one customer page, each with its own gate codes and access notes. Each unit’s work goes on its own job, and each item is a line on the invoice from your price book.

Can the customer pay from his office?

Yes. Photos of the finished work go on the invoice, it goes out with a Pay now button, and he pays by card from wherever he is; the money lands in your bank through your own Stripe account.
